Moscow, August 17, Interfax - Security has been tightened near the Moscow Khamovnichesky Court, where a sentence in the case involving the Pussy Riot activists will be handed down on Friday.
There are police officers and several police buses near the court building, an Interfax correspondent has reported. Metal bars have been put around the court building.
Some 100 people, mainly journalists, have gathered at the building.
In the meantime, Liberal Democratic Party activists have organized a protest in support of the Russian Orthodox Church. They are holding pro-church banners.
Pussy Riot supporters have also come to the court building. Some young men are playing the guitar and singing songs.
Several evacuators have come to the court building and are evacuating the cars parked nearby.
Many journalists have now gathered near the metal bars put by the police around he court.
Court press officer Darya Lyakh told Interfax journalists will soon be allowed to enter the court building.
